SJRA Field Day achievements saw a tremendous resurgence in 2001 as the club earned a total of 16898 total points in the combination emergency exercise and competition.  The 40 m CW and SSB stations scored somewhat above their typical 800 QSO levels, but 20 CW also scored more than 800 contacts.  And the 80m/15m/10m SSB station in a breakout performance scored a prodigious total of 1098 contacts!   All tolled, there were 2383 CW and 2783 SSB contacts, including 238 by the VHF station.  The table at the left details the QSOs by band and mode.  The club also scored 1800 points through bonus points efforts including solar power operation; a satellite contact; ATV, SSTV, and APRS demos; NTS messages; and copying the W1AW bulletin.  Overall the event was a great performance by the SJRA crew.

The accumulated score or 16898 points (actually ARRL scored it as 17184) was good for first place in the 6A category (six emergency powered stations) and for 7th place overall in the competition.
