The 2009 Field Day saw the peak enthusiasm of 2008 start to fall, but scores still were excellent.  The table at the right shows that three stations, 40 CW, 80/15 CW, and 80 SSB collected essentially 800 QSOs or more.   These are the levels that were possible for these stations in 2008.  While 40 CW did achieve a very respectable 846 QSOs, it was not possible to match the phenomenaly total of 1206 QSOs from 2008.  This difference, plus the lack of a VHF station, were the primary factors leading to a lower total in 2009.  SJRA had to settle for a very respectable 14894 total, down from the near-record19434 points of 2008.

The GOTA station continued to provide an operating experience for new or inactive hams, and in the process it generated 332 QSOs.  The bonus point total (including GOTA bonus points) was 2030 points.  Included were 100 alternate power bonus points earned by Jon W2MC (shown below) using a QRP radio and his solar panel set.
