Jamboree On The Air 2012

SJRA will be participating with Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) on Saturday, October 20th 2012 at the Pine Hill Boy Scout Reservation from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Look for us operating as W2H around the Boy Scout calling frequencies: 40 Meters 7.190 20 Meters 14.290 15 Meters 21.360 10 Meters 28.390 We'll also likely be on the SJRA repeater (145.290) or the Pine Hill repeater (146.865) We'll be looking for JOTA stations and amateurs for the Scouts to talk with. The South Jersey Radio Association participated with the Southern New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America to participate with the Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) on Saturday October 15, 2011. We operated with the special call "W2H" at Pine Hill as part of “Harvest Fest” – A day-long event that included other activities (Fishing, Dog Training, Fire, Police, Crafts, Hayrides – it was great!) ARRL Field Day was a successful event for SJRA this year with 42 participants and an improvement in the points scored by them compared to last year. SJRA completed 3963 contacts on the HF bands, 172 GOTA QSOs, and one satellite contact. There was a total of 13,318 points, including 11,282 on six regular transmitters, 344 for GOTA, 2 for the satellite contact, and 1690 bonus points. Overall the point total was about 200 more than last year.
